Mi Minimum Wage 2024 History. On january 1, 2024, michigan's minimum wage rate will increase from $10.10 to $10.33 per hour as set by michigan's improved workforce opportunity wage act of 2018 which establishes the annual schedule of increases. The initial increase is expected to bring the state minimum wage above $12 an hour next year, according to an inflation adjustment tool cited by the state supreme.
The latest increase is the 5th of 12 annual increases to michigan’s minimum hourly wage, with the end goal of reaching $12.05 by 2030. Minors aged 16 and 17 will earn a rate of $8.78 per hour.
